During the summer of 2013, I completed a writing fellowship alongside a small team of undergraduate and graduate students in UNC’s School of Journalism. We produced a web-based multimedia project, operating out of the Powering a Nation media lab funded by the Carnegie and Knight Foundations, in which we explored water use along the Colorado River. I was responsible for the ‘Land Grab’ and ‘Addicted’ text pieces, which delve into the history of Western water and prospects for future water management, as well as research for and media integration within the overall project.
